Gamecocks to play in 2017 Gulf Coast Showcase

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The reigning National Champion Gamecocks will play in the 2017 Gulf Shores Coast Showcase in Naples, Fla. Nov. 24-26, according to the event.

The Gamecocks are one of three 2017 NCAA Tournament participants in the eight-team field that includes ETSU, Notre Dame, Rutgers, St. John’s, USF, Washington State and Western Michigan.

South Carolina opens the bracketed tournament on Fri., Nov. 24, at 1:30 p.m. against Rutgers with either St. John’s, a WNIT Round of 16 entry last season, or Western Michigan waiting for the Gamecocks on Saturday. The bottom half of the bracket features 2017 NCAA Elite Eight finisher Notre Dame as well as NCAA participant USF and also includes ETSU and WNIT semifinalist Washington State.

All teams are guaranteed three games at the event, which concludes on Sun., Nov. 26. Fans can visit GulfCoastShowcase.com for tournament and ticket information.

The Gamecocks will release the remainder of their non-conference schedule at a later date.

The South Carolina 2017-18 season ticket renewal deadline is Sept. 13, for which invoices have been sent to existing account holders.
