Four books recommended for removal from SC school libraries, classrooms

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The State Department of Education’s Instructional Material Review Committee recommended the removal of 4 additional books from school libraries and classrooms.

The books are “Perks of being a wallflower” by Stephen Chbosky, and “All boys aren’t blue” by George M.

Johnson, “Flamer” by Mike Curato, and “Push” by Sapphire.

The committee’s chair says all 4 books contain explicit sexual material.

The full board will meet on February 4, and vote on whether or not the books will be removed.
