Governor Henry McMaster: Hurricane Irma Update

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) -Governor Henry McMaster is set to address the state, along with SC Agencies at a 2pm Friday media briefing.

State officials are continuing to monitor the path of Hurricane Irma.
On Thursday, McMaster announced a mandatory evacuation of 143 healthcare facilities along the coast, no residential evacuations were ordered.
McMaster said he could decide Friday whether to close schools and SC Government buildings and call for evacuations ahead of the storm’s arrival.
According to McMaster, “It’s likely that I will announce tomorrow that schools and government offices will be closed on Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12 in some or all of the 46 counties in the state.”
