Samuel’s status for the season in doubt after Kentucky loss

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Deebo Samuel’s stellar junior season may have been cut short Saturday night in the Gamecocks 23-13 loss to Kentucky. Will Muschamp announced that the star junior wide receiver had broken his leg in the third quarter against the Wildcats and will miss the remainder of 2017.

Samuel responded on Twitter after the game, saying “Thank all y’all for the support…… it’s is not a broken leg low ankle fracture we will be back in 5-6 weeks”.

For however long it is, Deebo’s departure means the now 2-1 Gamecocks will need his teammates at wide receiver and tight end to step up.
