Lee County Cotton Festival has 5K, parade, pageant

BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” The South Carolina Cotton Museum is working with the Lee County Chamber of Commerce to put on a Cotton Festival this weekend. The Item of Sumter reports (http://bit.ly/13TuPWX ) that Saturday’s event in Bishopville starts off with a 5-kilometer walk at 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Church streets. Chamber President Thaddeus Dickey says a downtown parade begins at 10 a.m. Food, music and kids’ games are offered at Chappell Park.
