Neighbors React After Body Found on the Side of the Road

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — “Everybody better be careful what they do, where they go, how they do it,” says Herbert Jacobs of Columbia.
Jacobs has lived near Center Street for about a year and a half now and Thursday morning he woke up to quite the scene.
“I just came outside and seen policemen sitting on the corner right there,” says Jacobs
According to the Columbia Police Department, a passerby discovered a body in the area around 8:00 o’clock Thursday morning and called 911.
The victim has only been identified as a male and police say they suspect foul play.
No other details were given.
But, neighbors are speculating.
“I hear somebody said the was in the car, they dropped him off at the corner. When he got out, he had to did something and all of a sudden they pulled out a gun and shot him,” says Jacobs.
According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, an autopsy is planned for tomorrow.
