Remembering Liberation of Auschwitz

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Monday morning, Jan. 27, Governor Henry McMaster served as a keynote speaker for a program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz.

The program was held at the University of South Carolina’s Pastides Alumni Center.

Community religious leaders as well as the children of holocaust survivors spoke at the ceremony.

Those who spoke to ABC Columbia say no one should ever forget the lessons of Auschwitz.

Over a million people, mostly jews were murdered at Auschwitz.
