LCSD: Motorcycle driver dies after crash on Lexington County road

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A motorcycle driver has died after a crash in the Red Bank area of Lexington County, say deputies.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon says based on information from the scene, the motorcycle driver was driving recklessly when a deputy saw them and began the process to pull them over.

“The deputy was trying to catch up with the motorcycle when the driver continued through the intersection at South Lake and Knoll Station Drive and collided with another car,” says Sheriff Koon.

The deputy reported the crash to the Lexington County 911 Communications Center and responded to the collision.

The motorcycle driver was identified by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office as 20-year-old Nathan Scott Ash of Pelion.

Ash was taken to a hospital after the Feb. 4, crash and later pronounced dead.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Highway Patrol at *HP (*47).
