Starbucks baristas push back on writing names on cups

(CNN)– Starbucks’ baristas are once again scribbling on customers’ cups using sharpies for the first time since the pandemic.

Starbucks’ new CEO has instructed employees to include simple, personalized messages on cups such as affirmations and well wishes.

However, some Starbucks baristas are already pushing back.

They complain that writing out names and messages on every cup has slowed down their pace.

And they say customers have also misinterpreted their messages as attempts at flirting.
