USPS warn public about romance scams ahead of Valentine’s Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Valentine’s Day is right around the corner but don’t let your desire for love cloud your judgement.
Officials with the U.S. Postal Service say people should be on the lookout for romance scams which are designed to take advantage of people seeking companionship.
Officials say scammers create fake identities and cultivate relationships with their targets.
Ultimately they will pressure their victims into sending them money.
Officials say if you think you are the victim of a romance scam, cut off communication immediately and report it to law enforcement.
