Driver involved in Horry Co. crash dies two days after collision
Horry Co., SC (WOLO) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that has now claimed a life. According to Lance Corporal Lena Butler, Monday February 10th around 10:30 in the morning the driver of the 2017 Honda Tucson was traveling south bound along Brighton Road, SC-707 an area just 4 miles north of Surfside.
According to authorities, another vehicle, 2015 Ford Fusion was facing stopped along the side of the road facing north. Officials say the driver of the Honda traveled left of the center line and collided into the Fusion with two people inside. Neither of the two people inside the idle car were injured, but authorities say the driver of Honda was taken to the hospital.
Wednesday evening highway patrol announced that the driver who had been hospitalized for the past two days died. The exact cause of death has not yet been released.
