SC National Guard to Help Puerto Rico

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Governor Henry McMaster announced he’s sending in
Engineers from the South Carolina National Guard to aid Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Shipping containers are filled with supplies but are stuck sitting in the Puerto Rican Port, unable to reach citizens because of lack of truck drivers and diesel fuel. Meanwhile, frustration is building. Even with President Trump authorizing shipping restrictions to be waived immediately for the Island Thursday.

US Army officials say more than one million people in Puerto Rico do not have suitable drinking water.

If you would like to help in the effort to aid those living in Puerto Rico you can do so by going through The Red Cross.  To donate ten dollars just go to http://redcross.org or call
1-800-red-cross or text maria to 90999.
