Deputies: Midlands man arrested for torturing dog

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies say Darius Golson is charged with ill treatment of animals.

Investigators say on February 11th the Humane Society received an anonymous top that a dog on Colonial Dr. appeared to be in distress.

Deputies say when they found the dog a short time later it was severely emaciated and had died.

According to investigators Golson was the dog’s owner and the treatment of the animal was intentional abuse and torture.

Deputies say he is now in custody at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
