Sheriff Leon Lott speaks out about Dutch Fork High School arrests

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Wednesday, February. 19, Sheriff Leon Lott addressed the recent arrests of a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old student at Dutch Fork High School.

Lott says tips from students led resource officers to a knife inside the 15-year-old’s book bag.

Deputies say they also located two loaded guns in the car the students arrived to school in.

Sheriff Lott says communication from students was key in the case, and both students were taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
