(WCIV) — The International African American Museum announced it launched its official online retail store, a move designed to broaden its reach and allow individuals nationwide to engage with and support the museum’s mission through a curated selection of unique merchandise.
The online store offers a diverse array of products that reflect the rich history and vibrant culture showcased within the museum’s walls. Among the featured items are IAAM-branded apparel, such as the IAAM Crewneck and IAAM Sleeve Logo Shirt, and a selection of books, including “Gullah Spirit: The Art of Jonathan Green,” which celebrates the life and culture of the Gullah people of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Additionally, the store offers home goods like the IAAM Dark Chocolate Tumbler, IAAM Mocha Tumbler, and IAAM Latte Tumbler, allowing customers to take a piece of the museum with them wherever they go. The store will also feature a rotating selection of exclusive museum merchandise.
“Working on the IAAM online gift shop has been an incredibly meaningful journey for me and the entire team,” said Simone Howze, IAAM’s Visitor Experience Retail and Café Manager. “It’s more than just an opportunity to provide visitors with beautiful, thoughtfully curated items: It’s about creating a lasting connection to the museum’s mission and the powerful stories we share.”
Howze added: “This project allows us to extend the museum experience beyond our walls and brings our vibrant community closer together, whether near or far. Each purchase supports our ongoing work to amplify underrepresented voices and celebrate cultural heritage, and for that, we are truly proud.”
Purchases from the online store directly contribute to the IAAM’s efforts to preserve and share the vital stories of African American history and culture.
