Teen charged in connection with fatal Orangeburg shooting

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A teen has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Orangeburg this month.

Malikai Johnson,17, is charged with murder, attempted armed robbery, and weapons charges.

The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety says on February 7, George Caldwell of Bamberg was shot and killed outside Godge’s store on Old Edisto Drive.

ABC Columbia’s sister station WJBF reports Johnson was denied bond on Wednesday, February 26.

The case remains under investigation.
