Attorney for Luigi Mangione wants some evidence thrown out

(CNN) — An attorney representing Luigi Mangione wants evidence obtained from his client’s backpack to be tossed out.
Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with the December killing of United Healthcare Chief Executive Brian Thompson.
The filing says officers illegally stopped mangione at a McDonald’s and searched his backpack without obtaining a search warrant.

It also claims Mangione was questioned by authorities before he was read his miranda rights.
If convicted of murder, Mangione could face life in prison.
