Teen arrested after Saturday home break-in, Sumter County deputies say

 

 

 

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged after investigators say he broke into a home, said Sumter County investigators.

Investigators said around 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 18-year-old Simon Welch burglarized a home on Commonwealth Court.

While on the phone with Sumter County dispatch, the resident reported seeing the suspect attempting to gain entry.

Deputies were able to arrive at the location while Welch was still inside.

He was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was denied bond.

Welch was charged with burglary – 1st degree, and possession of cocaine.
