COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will conduct a temporary nighttime lane closure on the new bridge over the Saluda River (Exit 108 B-A) on Tuesday, said SCDOT.

Beginning on March 11 at 10 p.m. and ending at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, the closure will take place to complete the installation of a new overhead signage over the bridge as part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

Traffic will be detoured using I-26 westbound to I-20 westbound to I-26 eastbound, according to SCDOT.

Motorists will be directed to follow the detour onto I-126 eastbound and are encouraged to allow for additional travel time.

Message boards, lane closure and detour signs will be placed along I-26 westbound to inform motorists of the detour and temporary traffic pattern.
