Apple prepares to overhaul software

(CNN)– Bloomberg reports Apple is preparing one of the biggest software overhauls in the company’s history.

It cited people familiar with the effort, who say the revamp aims to transform the interface of the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

It’s expected to be the biggest overhaul of the iPhone in a dozen years, since the IOS 7 came out in 2013.

The overhaul is due later this year.

Sources tell Bloomberg the revamp will fundamentally change the look of the operating systems, and make the company’s software platforms more consistent.
