FDA recalls several popular brands of acne face wash

(CNN) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced several are being voluntarily recalled due to elevated levels of a chemical linked to cancer.

A total of six products are being recalled, including products from Proactiv, La Roche-Posay, and Walgreens. The FDA says testing revealed the products contained elevated levels of Benzene which is found in crude oil and gasoline.

The agency says exposure to the chemical can increase the risk of cancer.
However, the FDA says a person’s risk of developing cancer after using the products is very low.
