(WPDE) — On Tuesday, the South Carolina Department of Education announced schools that will be participating in the Strategic Compensation Pilot Grants.
These grants will be awarding $5 million to 37 schools across 29 districts for their continued commitment to student’s growth in ELA and math.
The SCDE said demand was ‘undeniable’ with 118 schools applying for over $22 million in funding.
Even though every school couldn’t receive the funding, the SCDE said these 37 schools will ‘serve as a model’ for rewards in excellence and ensuring the right teachers stay in classrooms.
