S.C. Chamber of Commerce hosts Agriculture, Forestry event

West Columbia, SC (WOLO) — From family farms and companies that produce livestock to huge food manufacturers,  Officials with South Carolina’s Chamber of Commerce say the wide range of industries in the Palmetto state is “vital” to our state’s economy.

With so many significant contributions coming from these businesses, a group of key heavy hitters gathered in West Columbia Tuesday evening.  The purpose of the event is to shine a light on and celebrate strides made in the industry.

Those who attended were also able to get and hear more about the economic outlook in the field and the positive impact these industries have throughout the state. During Tuesday nights event the Chamber of Commerce awarded the Agribusiness of the Year Award recognizing a company, individual person or an organization that has helped contribute the accomplishments and growth in the cultivating industry.
