SC first responders compete in games

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — First responders in South Carolina have an opportunity to show off their skills this weekend. On Saturday, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association is putting on the 2013 First Responders Games at White Knoll High School. Chief Deputy Keith Kirchner of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is president of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association. He says the event is a “Crossfit-style” competition and is open to participants from the military, EMS, firefighters, telecommunications officers, correctional officers and police officers.
