SCDEW: Record number of people working in SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–  South Carolina’s workforce continues to expand.

Officials with the Department of Employment and Workforce say in February, the number of people working in the Palmetto State increased to more than 2.4 million people,

setting a record.

The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.2%.

Officials say the largest growth was in the health care and social assistance industries.
