FCSO: Man arrested after endangering himself, motorists on I-77
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County deputies have arrested a man for endangering himself and motorists on Tuesday, April 1.
Deputies say they were called to the northbound lanes of I-77 near mile marker 46 for reports of a man throwing objects into the road.
They were able to locate the person who refused offers of assistance and continued walking along the interstate.
Also, deputies say the situation escalated when the person ran into traffic and attempted to jump onto a moving vehicle.
Deputies ran after the person, who resisted arrest and engaged in a physical altercation which resulted in injuries to one deputy.
He was taken to the Fairfield County Detention Center.
