NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will reduce I-26 Westbound over the Palmetto Trail (mile marker 83) and over Indian Creek (mile marker 65) for bridge repairs.

The lane closure will begin on Monday, April 28, and SCDOT expects continuous, single-lane closures to last until the end of May.

Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible.

As part of the closure, wide loads exceeding 10 feet in width will be asked to exit the interstate at SC 202 and follow the signed detour route.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
