Newberry County deputies searching for man accused of breaking into church

 

 

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Newberry County deputies are searching for a man accused of breaking into a church on Monday morning, say investigators.

Investigators with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office say a white male, wearing dark clothes, and carrying a camouflage jacket with a reddish colored backpack broke into Calvary Baptist Church near SC-121 and I-26.

An alarm system activated at 10:16 a.m. on Monday, April 7, and alerted the sheriff’s office.

Anyone in the area is asked to be cautious and call 911, or the sheriff’s office if the man is seen.

Additionally, investigators believe the man may be on a motorcycle, possibly a Honda.
