Man with terminal cancer vows to help others during his last days

(CNN) — A  cancer patient is on a unique tour across America to do as much volunteering before the disease takes his life.
Doug Ruch helped out at Project Open Hand in San Francisco, California on Monday. Earlier this year, Doug was told he had 12 to 18 months to live.

Doug decided he wanted to spend that time helping others. And it appears here is off to an amazing start. Since he started donating his time just two weeks ago, he has volunteered in eight states. Doug says hopes to inspire others to volunteer.
