SCHP: 1 person dead following collision in Sumter

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Highway Patrol says one person is dead following a collision in Sumter on Monday, April 7.

According to troopers, the victim was driving on US-76 near Old Garners Ferry Road when they went off the road and struck a tree.

They later died from their injuries at the hospital. The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.

Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
