Richland County deputies arrest two people for assault

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C.(WOLO)– Richland County deputies say two men are in custody after being wanted for an assault that happened at a restaurant in March, said the sheriff’s dept.

Deputies say they responded at Concept Restaurant for reports of an assault on March 16.

When deputies arrived, they found a victim with multiple injuries.

According to investigators, the victim was jumped by two people, and then taken to a local hospital.

The suspects were later identified as Clifton Bookert and Michael James.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department put out a social media post on Wednesday, April 9, saying that Michael Alexander James was wanted in connection with assault and battery of a high and aggravated natured related to the assault.

They were both taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
