First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe switches to Republican Party
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe announced he’s leaving the Democratic Party to join the Republican Party.
Pascoe, who has served Calhoun, Orangeburg, and Dorchester Counties for over 20 years said that the national and state Democratic Party no longer aligns with his commitment to being tough on crime, upholding pro-life beliefs, and rooting out corruption.
He cited Former President Biden commuting the sentences of 37 murderers on federal death row last year as the last straw.
South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain criticized the move saying “we can only assume this switch is the final part of a new career in political performance art.”
