SCAG grants extension to Alex Murdaugh’s appeal of murder convictions

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Supreme Court has granted the Attorney General’s Office more time to respond to Alex Murdaugh’s appeal of his murder convictions.

This request for a 120-day extension now gives the state till August 8 to respond to Murdaugh’s request for a Supreme Court hearing.

In December of last year Murdaugh filed a motion to appeal his convictions and sentences based on allegations of jury tampering by a court official.

Murdaugh was convicted of the murders of his wife and son in 2021.
