CRFD: Firefighters extinguish debris pile fire at Mid-Carolina Steel & Recycling

 

 

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department extinguished a debris pile fire on Wednesday afternoon, said the fire dept.

According to fire officials, Brush Truck 18 arrived to Mid-Carolina Steel & Recycling on Fairfield Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. on April 16 to find a large pile of metal scraps on fire.

After several hours, a bulk of the fire was eliminated and firefighters continued to flow water onto the pile overnight.

No one was injured during the operation.
