Milaysia Fulwiley thanks Dawn Staley and South Carolina, officially enters transfer portal

South Carolina women’s basketball will be without one of its most dynamic players next season, as sophomore guard MiLaysia Fulwiley has officially decided to enter the transfer portal.

She posted on her Instagram thanking Dawn Staley and her hometown of Columbia, but saying she’s excited for what’s next.

The news was first reported by Lulu Kesin of the Greenville News.

Fulwiley, a former standout at Keenan High School in Columbia, spent two seasons with her hometown team. During her time at South Carolina, she played a key role in helping the Gamecocks capture a national championship.

As a sophomore, she earned All-SEC honors and was named the SEC’s Sixth Woman of the Year.

In her two seasons as a Gamecock, Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.
