COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, Keep the Midlands Beautiful’s annual shoe drive fundraiser is going on now through May 31.
You can donate new or gently worn shoes at their office on Augusta Road in West Columbia.
It helps raise funds to support the non-profit’s litter prevention, recycling and beautification efforts.
Don’t miss the 6th annual Kinetic Derby Day.
The one-of-a-kind event celebrates creativity, competition, and family fun.
There will be a sculpture parade, soapbox racing, food trucks and more.
The event takes place on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. on State and Meeting Streets in West Columbia.
Columbia Animal Services is hosting a “Pups and Pints” event this weekend.
You can adopt a furry friend, support local businesses and learn about shelter programs.
You can also get an autograph from Gamecock Football Star Maurice Brown II.
It takes place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, April 19, at Bierkeller Columbia.
All adoptions fees are waived, but you must bring a leash and a collar.
The world’s biggest bounce house is bouncing into the Midlands.
The Big Bounce America event kicks off tomorrow (Friday, April 18, through Sunday, April 20 at the Historic Columbia Speedway on Charleston Highway in Cayce.
Your kids can jump to their hearts content inside of the nearly 24-thousand square foot bounce house, go through a huge obstacle course, have a foam party and much more.
