COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland firefighters controlled a Dollar Tree fire on Saturday, said fire officials.

According to the fire dept., shortly before 5:30 p.m. firefighters were sent to the Dollar Tree on Rosewood Drive for a reported fire.

Firefighters arrived to the store to find black smoke coming out of the front of the building.

Officials said the fire broke out in an aisle of the store and extended into the attic.

Crews entered the building and quickly got the incident under control.

All staff and customers who were inside the store at the time got out safely.

The interior of the building did suffer heavy damages, said Columbia-Richland Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
