Airbnb to show total cost of stay by default

(CNN)– Airbnb is making a change to its platform.

It will now show the total price for your booking, including fees and taxes by default.

This marks a change from the default displaying prices based off the nightly rate.

Airbnb says it’s part of the company’s commitment to “affordability and transparency.”

The changes come ahead of new federal regulations about junk fees that are set to go into effect on May 12.
