(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C.,–
it was a hard fought race to the last hour, but by 9:30 with 101 precincts out of 130 reporting the race was called, making it a victory for Mayor Steve Benjamin who said he was thankful and full after winning the Mayoral race for the city of Columbia.
A tough defeat for his challenger and colleague, Councilman Moe Baddourah who gave a concession speech shortly after results slowly came in.
” i’m ready to move forward and find ways for the city council to work better together, I can’t wait to sit down and figure out how we are going to pay for Bull Street and how we are going to improve our public safety. There are a lot of things we can do to work together and I am looking forward to working with the Mayor and all of the other Council members.
Both the Mayor and Councilman Baddourah say they’re ready to get to work on the business of the City.
