States sue Trump Administration over tariffs

(CNN)– A group of twelve states is suing the Trump Administration over President Trump’s tariffs.

He claims he can impose them single-handedly due to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

It gives the president authority to respond to unusual and extraordinary threats.

The lawsuit argues his use of that law is an overreach.

It notes the constitution gives Congress the power to collect taxes and duties.
