(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., —
With less than 24 hours left before you head to the polls to cast your ballots, both Mayor Steve Benjamin and Councilman Moe Baddourah are working harder than ever to get your vote.
Mayor Benjamin spent Monday evening campaigning throughout Columbia neighborhoods, passing out materials explaining his platform and talking with voters about the strides he’s made over the last 4 years in office, and how they can work together to make Columbia a State of the Art City over the next four years.
Mayor Benjamin says he’s focus on public safety and making Columbia the safest city in the country, continuing to make economic growth that will continue to bring opportunities to residents.
Councilman Baddourah who also spent the day campaigning, says he too wants to rebuilding the city , starting with an overhaul of the drainage system but his first priority is public safety and hiring a permanent police chief which he says he started requesting 7 months ago.
During our interview, Baddourah challenged the Mayor to “explain to the voters how you intend to pay for the Bull streets project.”
The Mayor responded with a memorandum listing 17 different funding sources listed below.
