Portions of area apartment complex forced to evacuate during more than 3 hour stand off
Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says a man involved in a more than three hour stand-off has ended peacefully.
That man has been identified as 35-year-old Andrew Fedyschyn.
Deputies were called the 10-thousand block of Southern Drive in reference to a warrant service for an individual inside of the Roost Apartment complex. As a safety precaution for nearby residents a portion of the apartment complex was forced to evacuate and the entrance to the location was closed around 7pm. More than an hour later RCSD remained on the scene where they reported they were still trying to get the suspect inside of one of the units to comply.
Just after 10pm Friday night, Deputies say the suspect who has not been identified surrendered to authorities. At last check, (10:40pm) the apartment remained closed to non residents.
