Richland County deputies investigating report of sexual assault at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating a report of a sexual assault that happened at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, said RCSD.

Deputies said on Friday, May 2, around 9:30 p.m., RCSD was notified by an inmate’s attorney of a reported sexual assault that happened at the jail on Wednesday, April 30.

Investigators responded to a local hospital to meet with the victim, according to Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The sheriff’s department said an ASGDC guard is accused of sexually assaulting the victim who is an inmate at the jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
