(CNN) — President Trump signed an executive Order Monday aiming to cut prescription drug prices. Here’s what we know so far.
The executive order would apply to a wide range of drugs and prices.The Department of Health and Human Services would work to negotiate lower prices.
If that does not produce results…H.H.S would implement the “most favored nation” rule. Which Trump did in his first term, but the executive order faced many court challenges and was ultimately dropped by the Biden administration.
On the campaign trail last year, Trump said he would reinstate the most favored nation executive order from 2020, but a video about it disappeared from Trump’s 2024 campaign website. The order gives drugmakers price targets to hit in the next 30 days.
