Eau Claire High School to host USA Basketball Open Court

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Beginning on Sunday, Jan. 7, children 6-17 years old in the Columbia, South Carolina, area will have the opportunity to participate in a USA Basketball Open Court program at Eau Claire High School.
USA Basketball Open Court, presented by Nike, provides children a safe and fun environment in which to play basketball. Children choose how to engage in the sport through free play, skill games, five-on-five, 3×3 and station options. Sessions are free to the community and open to children of all ability levels.
The USA Basketball Open Court at Eau Claire High School will operate on 12 Sundays between Jan. 7 and April 8, with sessions from 1-2 p.m. for children 6-9 years old, 2-4 p.m.for children 10-12 years old and 4-6 p.m. for children 13-17 years old.

As one of USA Basketball’s youth development initiatives, Open Court connects children to local facilities, and the free-play setting allows children the opportunity to enjoy basketball in a safe environment while earning prizes for participation. Each Open Court program is supervised by USA Basketball licensed coaches.
All participants must submit a waiver signed by a parent or guardian before participating in their first session. Waivers are available at the program location.
Open Court participants earn points by attending sessions, and bonus points may be earned when a player brings a friend, has perfect attendance or makes a social media post about their experience. At the end of the 12 sessions, participants can trade in points earned for custom USA Basketball Youth Development and Nike prizes.
