AG Wilson to discuss latest statistics, efforts regarding human trafficking in the Southeast
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson along with members of the Southeastern Coalition Against Human Trafficking will discuss the prevalence of the crime, and their efforts to stop it, at a news conference Friday morning in the State House.
The address comes in conjunction with the coalition’s two-day conference happening through Friday in Columbia.
South Carolina will release its Human Trafficking 2017 Annual Report, which includes the most recent facts and figures about the crime and the state’s fight against it. Members of the coalition will also talk about how groups from across the region are working together.
The Governor has proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month. The proclamation will be read at the news conference, set for 11 a.m. in the second floor lobby of the State House.
