Governor McMaster Wants to Cut Income Taxes in New Proposal
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)- Governor Henry McMaster announces a plan he says is full of incentives including putting some money back in your wallet.
Governor McMaster said President Trump’s tax reform plan has influenced him to cut income taxes in our state.
The governor wants to decrease every tax bracket by one percent over five years totaling to 2.2 billion dollars in taxpayer savings.
Governor McMaster also looking to spend around 40 million dollars on initiatives, apprenticeships and training geared towards increasing the workforce.
The governor also wants appropriate 10 million dollars to combat the opioid crisis in the state. He said funds would go to enhancing treatments and monitoring systems for the crisis.
These are just a few of the governor’s detailed suggestions for lawmakers as they allocate the funds for the budget. The General Assembly is back in session Tuesday.
