9 Arrested 50 Identified in Bank Fraud Scam

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Nine people arrested and 50 more suspects identified in what Sheriff Leon Lott is calling a major banking scam.   Sheriff Lott says the investigation began in February when investigators uncovered a scam at TD Bank.
  The sheriff says they have now determined the suspects have been using the same scam at Wells Fargo and Wal-Mart’s bank.
   Lott says suspects would open fraudulent accounts, give others their personal identification numbers to others who would then write bad checks making false deposits.
  The suspects would then withdraw the money.
