Newberry Co. arrests man accused of burglarizing an area church

Newberry Co., SC (WOLO) — The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they say is connected to a church burglary in the county last month.
Authorities say 26 year old Joshua William Wright of Easley was apprehended in Pickens County and taken to the Newbery County Detention Center. Officials say Wright is accused of breaking into the Calvary Baptist Church April 7, 2025.
Sheriff Lee Foster says the arrest was a team effort crediting investigators, the use of forensics, citizens help and good old fashion ground work that ultimately helped them capture Wright.
He is scheduled for a bond hearing at a later date.
