One college gets quite the ‘Kermencement’ ceremony

College Park, M.D., (ABC) — University of Maryland graduates had a very green commencement speaker this year.

Thursday night Kermit Thee Frog delivered a speech sending the class of 2025 into the next chapter of their lives.
The beloved Muppet offered words of optimism and encouragement to the graduating students.
Kermit has a long history with the school. Muppets creator Jim Henson graduated from the University in 1960.

The campus garden even has a bronze statue of Kermit and Henson.

All Doug ABC Columbia’s anchor Doug Currin was able to get was an interview with Kermy and Fozzie about a Muppet Christmas. Not a bad get. That interview, Circa 2007. Doug shared the picture to prove it.
